Today, taking a clear point of departure from a blog of which we are a big fan (Quaderni di rotta di una strega moderna, written by Claudia Simoni),we would like to speak about the little witched village in Italy,in particular about Triora but also about Cimegi Trentino and San Fili,in Calabria. The villages in Italy are called “borghi”which mean little villages made of pierres that stay on the mountain, which are very ancient and full of witchery.
Departing from Triora,is called in this way because it symbolically has three big main products that can be sold in the rest of Italy:the grain, the wine and the chaiwas tree(il castagno,in italian),but the rest of the world known this village as the witches village. On 15th of august,it is kept here Strigora,a intinerant caravan keep in the ancient borgo of Triora which has for the theme obviously the withces..in this little village there is also a little place,la Cabotina,in which the ancient women takes care of maladies of people using yerbs and flowers..today is possible to visit it,also if it has not the roof and is fully covered by the vegetation.
Have you ever been there? It’s located in Liguria,in the north of Italy..
Speaking about the other two witchery village, one is Cimego, which is famous for polenta,a kind of puré made of mais and for the witches ballet.Another one is San Fili in Calabria, called also “paese delle magare”,that is famous for his yerbolistic remedies, made by the witches.
Have you ever visisted one of this three little villlages? Why?
