Today we would like to speak about a little neighborhood up in the bologna hills that we generally use during summer to do grill on the barbecue or to walk with our friends or with the dog..this neighborhood that we all know as Monte Donato,is called “borgo dei gessaroli”.”Borgo dei gessaroli”would mean “the cave village”,here in fact the cave men lived for long time whereas they work in the cave of gesso,which is a strong stone used to build the foundance of our house.In the center of this village,we found a restaurant,a theater and some house..nowadays it remains only some house,a big park and a famous typical “trattoria”,which is a kind of an old restaurant..another fun fact are the old people that go up to the hills training with them the stone in order to build the city-they were called “birrocciai”which would men”the men who drove the horses”…What do you think about?Have you have ever visited an old part of your city and read after their history?
